Welcome Autumn

Autumn is just around the bend.  Visions of trees draped in gold and auburn, cool morning air, and crisp apple cider are already sneaking into my mind.  With the kids off to school, the reality of sweaters and wool socks begins to sink in.  With shortening days, and decreasing temperatures, now is the time to start thinking about bringing some warmth into your home décor to counter the coolness that is growing outside.
Welcome Autumn

Cool colors are perfect for summer decorating, but with the onset of autumn, try bringing some of those lovely russet colors from outside into your house.  Try adding some crimson pillows or a gold-hued throw to the living room couch.  The colors bring instant warmth and add a touch of coziness easing the transition into the colder months.
And once those trees begin to change, fall foliage offers a perfect (and free) home accessory.  Simply gather a bunch of autumn branches with changing leaves or berries and place them in a pitcher for an elegant autumn arrangement.
The bounty of the season is also a perfect way to add the feel of autumn to your home.  Jack-be-littles, sugar pumpkins, and other gourds are perfect for pretty autumn centerpieces, and are both easy to care for, and long-lasting.  Gather a variety of small to medium sized gourds and place them in a rustic wooden bowl.   They will make your table all the more inviting with their seasonal beauty.
With these few touches, your house will be definitely be ready to welcome the cooler weather and shorter days.  And so will you.
