Ways to Celebrate Fall Outdoors

Photo

Fall brings about crisp mornings, earlier night falls and vibrant orange and yellows everywhere. The summer chapter for this year has closed and you’re about to enter a quieter, cooler time of the year. Here are ways to celebrate the fall outdoors.

Get those mums while you can.

They’re cheap, they’re hardy and they’re pretty! There’s also a lot of variety when it comes to mums.  You can get a variety that grows up to 30 inches, or a variety that only grows one foot tall. They’re easy to take care of, too – they prefer sun but can still do well in partial shade, so you can pretty much put them anywhere around the outside of your home to brighten it up.

Pick up a pumpkin or two. Or three or four.

Pumpkins aren’t just for Halloween. They’re great for decorating front porches, back decks or gazebos. You could get real ones or pick up some plastic ones at a dollar store or craft store and get creative. Paint them, add sparkles or add a ribbon or two. You could even put them inside of your now-unused plant containers. The possibilities of decorating with pumpkins are endless. It’s a quick way to feel festive about fall and dress up your outdoor space.

Don’t forget your front porch or back patio!

Make it a point to enjoy at least one cool evening on your front porch or back patio. Embrace the blanket and enjoy the cooler temperatures while you can. Half an hour wrapped in a blanket outside with a cup of tea or cider will be a great memory once old man winter comes rolling in. Plus, during the fall, especially on the East coast, sunsets are especially bright and colorful. It’s something worth spending a few minutes outside to catch! And in case you missed it, fall is a great time to buy outdoor furniture and other outdoor products because there are loads of sales going on.
