10 Easy Organizing Tips

It’s that time of year again.  Spring cleaning.  Ugh!  If you’re like me, it’s probably not one of your favorite things to do.  But, on the flip side, getting your home clean and organized is always a mood lifter.  So here are 10 easy tips to make spring cleaning a little less of a drag, and a bit more inspirational.

  1. Invest in a wall-mounted ironing board holder.  This inexpensive little device will keep all your ironing supplies handy in one place.  Your ironing board will stay tucked flush against the wall, and there is a handy shelf for your iron and spray bottle as well.
  2. It may sound cliché.  But try using a bucket to store all of your cleaning supplies in one handy spot.  The bonus is that you can easily carry the supplies from one room to the next, making your cleaning chores go faster.
  3. Beauty items taking over your bathroom?  Try using a plastic bin or a bucket to hold all daily essentials, from moisturizers to makeup to hair supplies.  Stash the bin under the sink, and when it comes time to beautify yourself, just pull it out.  Everything in one spot and out of the way.
  4. Create a household command center binder.  Use it to keep frequently called phone numbers, addresses, important flyers, and even take out menus all in one place where everyone can find them.
  5. Let’s face it, keeping the shower clean can be a chore.  Try storing a squeegee right in the shower.  Then when you’re done showering, take a minute and squeegee the walls and door.  It will help keep that annoying soap scum from building up
  6. An easy trick that will keep you running on time in the morning is to add a clock to each bathroom in the house.  No more tardiness because you got lost in your morning hygiene routine.

7. Try using a shower caddy in the laundry room to house all your stain lifting products.  Add a stain chart, and you’ll never be stumped on how to remove the marinara sauce from last night’s dinner.

8. Trust me, this one is a lifesaver.  Add a laundry basket to every family member’s closet.  Take it one step further by making it a divided caddy so each member can separate their own lights and darks.

9. Make it a habit to clean out the refrigerator each time you come home from the grocery store.  You’ll never be surprised by rotten Chinese takeout again.

10. Have a junk drawer?  Use a silverware caddy to corral your stuff.  This works equally well in a home office drawer to store pens, pencils and even tape.

Great tips for out of the box thinking. Most organizing tools are already hiding in your home! Over the door shoe holders are a great, versatile product that organizes EVERYTHING (make up, crafts, toys, etc)
