This should have been my motto last week… because I SURE felt like it! Even though I have a creative job, I am not always creating in a ‘creative way’. Does that make sense? It does… wow, that’s kind of scary isn’t it?
Sometimes we just have so much to do it is overwhelming. And when it is our hobby we are talking about, we must decide to get some balance so it stays fun!
So here’s the deal: we often are busy beyond busy. We ‘look’ more than we ‘make’ and we often have a bit of ‘envy’ as we ‘look’ at people who seem to be ‘making’ more than us.
Does that happen to you?
Well let me tell you a little story. Years ago when I was a young woman working in computers all day, I had a period of time where I stopped ‘making’, stopped creating, and, to be honest, I got really crabby. I started to feel that I was no longer creative. Didn’t have my MoJo at all. It was not a pretty sight.
Then you know what I did? I bought a red jacket. It was amazing. It was awesome. It was RED, and it made me feel great!
Then do you know what I did?
I FORCED myself to create. I got out my things, I sorted, and I touched all my goodies. I looked in books and magazines (no internet yet!), I went shopping, and then I just STARTED to make something.
I didn’t FEEL like making, but once you put needle to fabric, brush to paint, glue on paper… it comes back.
The more you make, the more you give yourself time and ‘permission’ to create, the more you do and the better you feel.
We ‘makers’ are like that – our wells run dry if we don’t feed them with paint and beads and sparkly things.
This week I want you to make something. No matter how small it might be. Then write to me and tell me what you did and how it felt. Get your Mojo going – you deserve it!

What a great inspiration of words…I had just said on Monday, 5/30, that I didn’t feel like I have purpose any longer…therefore not creating, not quilting, not touching fabric. However, when I woke up today, I started 3 or 4 chores…and I started cutting fabric into to pre-cuts and putting them in a designated container. Upon reading your inspiration, it was confirmation! I am a quilter, not a quitter ~~ therefore I must quilt!

Wow…..I’ve BEEN there!!!! Amazing to hear someone else say it though! And boy, isn’t it hellish, living with a quilter/creator who is to busy for their passion!!!!
I ADORE the caterpillar saying, too!
:O)
