Numerical Order

A little bit of whimsy is important in decorating.  You never want to take yourself too seriously, and I think the same holds true for your home.   One way to accomplish this is to add a bit of the unexpected.  I have been loving the trend of typography in decorating lately.  And, in particular, the use of numbers.  Adding numbers in interesting or unexpected places is a perfect way to add a touch of whimsy to your décor without going “over the top”.
Here are some  ideas for adding a little fun with numbers to your own décor.
Numbering
House numbers. Make your way to the local hardware store, and pick up a few metal house numbers.  But don’t use them on your front door.  Instead, use those numbers to add a little interest (and a bit of organization) to the bath.   Try hanging towel hooks on the bathroom wall, and adding a house number above each.  Not only is it cute…it can be a great way to make sure all the kids know which towel is theirs.
Stencilling.  Try adding a bit of fun to a dresser by stenciling numbers on each of the drawers.   It’s a quick way to create a one-of-a-kind furniture piece that’s sure to garner attention.
Adhesive Vinyl. You can easily add numbers to just about anything by using adhesive vinyl.  There are some great vinyl cutters on the market today, but never fear if you don’t own one, there are also many online shops or local copy centers that can cut out numbers to your specifications.
So add a little whimsy to your décor by creating some “numerical order” in your house.  It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3.
