Best Dressed

How do you become a “Best Dressed” sewer? Well, with sewing accessories of course! If you sew or craft you need to create cute and adorable items to help you.  Let’s take a look at a few projects that will put you in the running for “Best Dressed”!

LuAnn has this brilliant little “Iron Cozy” tutorial. What I love is that she uses a heat resistant  material on the inside that allows you to put a warm iron in the bag. The small travel irons are used by crafters of all types, and we often go on retreats or away for a sewing day. When it’s time to go home that iron just does not cool down fast enough!

These sewing machine sets are so popular! When I travel and teach, lots of people bring them. You can put items in the hanging pockets and it just makes your work are so cute! And I am ALL about cute! Michele has a great tutorial on how to sew up a mat, plus a thread catcher to hand off the table next to you.  These are so useful for any crafter!.

In my book “Redwork with a Twist” I have several accessory projects, including this little table top container and the pincushion. What I love about the container is that I can put in anywhere on my work table and it’s much nicer than a old plastic butter bowl.. yes.. I do know some of you use those.. let’s upgrade!

Do you have a sewing machine cover? It’s one of those items on my need to do someday list. I went searching around to find a really fast and easy project, and this one meets both my criteria! They are so quick you could even change the fabrics for the seasons.. oh come on.. you know you want to do that!

Are you “Best Dressed” yet? If not, what will you do first to bring your sewing apperance up a step or two? Leave a comment, because  I want to know!
